FOs and No Shows

Remember how pumped I was to go to Watkins Glen and to Finger Lakes Fibers and all? Yeah, I never went. Funny things happen when the weather is nice around here. I tend to get working outside and don’t leave.

I have finished some things. Almost. Here is the Lotus Blossom Tank. I do not like the neck line so I need to pull that out and do it again.

Finished my very first toe-up sock. I used the sewn bind off for the cuff.
Yarn: Schaefer Lola, color
Pattern: Toe Up Vine Lace Sock

I am almost done with this toe up sock. It’s going to Gary. I have to say this yarn keeps going and going. I keep thinking I am done and I weigh the yarn (to see how much I have left for sock #2) and I am still a long ways off.
It’s Cherry Tree Hill in Birches. Simple stockinette. Lots and lots of stockinette.

I have started the Lutea Shell, Interweave Knits Summer 2007. They have posted the errata on their website.
Yarn: Lion Brand Cotton Ease (bought on sale at Michael’s for 2.99/ball: the $12 tank!)

My last Loopy Ewe order included this little stitch marker. It’s a cat playing with yarn. I am not much of a cat person but I do love this marker!

Making ‘time’ for yarn

Have you taken advantage of Cider Moon’s July sale on Glacier yet? I did - maybe too much. I have had my eyes on a couple colors for a while and put them off. After all you can only have so much yarn. Ooops. Here is Pandora Rose and Pistachio.

Avocado and Blimey. That green!

As always, they throw in some sample bits of other yarns.

Here is a Flurry sample in Pistachio compared to the Glacier Pistachio I bought. It’s interesting that the different weights will encourage different colors.

Here’s the thing though. I can’t do anything with these yarns for a while. I need to use one of these skeins of Schaefer yarns I got from the Loopy Ewe to make a pair of socks - by next Sunday! FingerLakes Fibers celebrates their one year anniversary next Sunday and Cheryl Schaefer will be speaking about her inspiration for creating hand-painted Schaefer yarns; and all Schaefer yarn will be 20%, including any special orders paid in full that day! And local podcaster Carrie, from Socks in the City (Auburn, NY), will be doing a remote recording for one of her next casts right from the store!

Oh - and not just Schaefer yarn is on sale, the whole store is! Wish me luck (and strength)!
