Travelling socks finally done

Posted by mobarger on Dec-29-2007

And this week I hardly travelled! This sock has been to Chicago and back, Rhinebeck and back, to day long meetings, bus rides, car rides … and they are done done done.
I did not take the chance of matching up the colors and running out of yarn – turns out I was worrying too much as I have a good amount left. So the socks are a little mismatched but once in shoes, who can tell? :)

Basic sock, Twisted Fibers Ravelry yarn. I start on size 2 dpns with 56stitches then I rib 2×2 for about an inch. Knit stockinette to heel then do a traditional heel, knit within 2″ of toe and do my decreases every other row til 4st on each needle remain. Then I use the kitchener stitch, bring it together and then weave in ends.

Before I start another project, I aim to finish all the sweaters I have laying around waiting to be sewn up. It is NOT my favorite part!

  1. kasia Said,

Socks look really nice! THeir colours remind me of candy. Gosh, I hate seaming the sweaters too, that’s why I was lately mostly knitting top-down construction, because no seams are needed (or at least not so many :D )
