Mmmmm Chocolate

Yes, it’s another swap, this time the “Autumn Chocolate swap” on Ravelry. But with the time of year and all, it is very easy to sneak some holiday chocolate in there too! I know I did for mine, and my swap partner did for me too!
Included are 2 different kinds of Hershey kisses, and plenty of chocolate from her favorite candy shop in Lansing Michigan. This will keep me in chocolate for a while! And keeping with the chocolate theme, String Theory sock yarn in “Winter Canopy” which is a mix of browns, white and some blue.

Thank you Lauren! You read me like a book! Maybe even two books!

Included in my package were 2 books, even one from my Amazon wishlist. The books are “Meditations from the Mat” and “Herbal Healing for Women.” Also in the package were Tazo Green Tea, Ghiradelli chocolate with peanut butter, some herbally cleaning towels for mats or whatever, a Wah! CD (new to me! yay!), huge jar of strawberry jam from the sender’s favorite local place, and yaarrrn.

Knit Picks Imagination yarn in Seven Dwarves. Let’s go in for a close-up.

The way to Zen

The way to zen is through knitting of course! But really, I am currently participating in a yoga-themed swap on Ravelry . Blogless Ellab has sent me a very nice package! She included a book, “Knitted Socks East and West,” Neil Young “Harvest” CD, and 2 skeins of sock yarn.
I picked the mail up as I was heading out and I have to tell you, I was so excited about the Neil Young CD I immediately popped it in the player in my trick! Heaven! It has been a long since I have had this album and I was so happy to be reunited with it.

The yarn is Wildfoote in “Dark Carmel,” a nice orange-y brown which I really like! I see many patterns in the book where I can use this yarn! Thank you ellab!

I’m savin up for knitting lessons!

Many thanks to the crafty Bunkybobo who sent me a wonderful ASSS08 swap box.

She included tea and taffy, some scent samples from Happy Housewife, lavendar soap, lip balm that she made herself, a Sharpie (! love the Sharpies!), a pattern from KnitSpot (Shifty) and yarn of course.

But let’s focus on that yarn a second, shall we? She dyed this herself. I love it. The colors are very fall-y and warm and just ….well… GREAT! She has an Etsy shop and I highly suggest you check out some of those yarns.

Million dollar swap box

This is what I have been calling the Ravelry Summer Caffeine swap. The box was HUGE and filled to the brim. And the worst part is I left the card at my desk at work and can’t remember who sent it to me!

She sent Zephyr stitch markers. They are so light!

Soap and lotion.

Mango tea, chocolate covered almonds and COFFEE that smells absolutely amazing.

A beautiful mug.

She knit me a hat using Knitspot’s “Hot Waffles” pattern. She also sent me a matching skein of Cascade 220 to complete the matching gloves!

Socks that Rock Braun’s Woods. This color has been on my wishlist since it came out! I am so excited!

Knitted Wit “Mow Your Lawn.” This is a huge skein and will be perfect for the pattern she sent me.

2 skeins of Shibui Sock yarn in a wonderful blue.

And a beautiful scarf pattern she managed to get autographed by the designer.

So thank you MmarthaG from Vancouver! I absolutely love everything you sent to me!

KR Holiday Swap 2007

I had an absolutely horrible day today – I won’t bore you with the details. We do have quite a snowstorm today, snow is still coming down. But the mail brought me a wonderful package from a incredibly thoughtful KnitFool Claudia from KR forums.

Here’s the rundown:

Fiber Trends pattern for chickens! Complete with Cascade 220 and Nature’s Palette for creating Henrietta and her brood.

A mug with a rooster on it! Scone mix (and I had been thinking about learning how to make scones and biscotti over Christmas break!). Coffee, a mini chibi darning needle set, a cool device for colorwork: a Norwegian Knitting thimble, very clever, Virginia peanut soup mix (that;s a new one on me and I read all about George Washington Carver as a kid) 3 samples of SOAK, some funky Skacel Juliet yarn, and

These beauties! They fit great! I am trying to type with them on now. So bad day, but a great ending. Thank you Claudia!
